Art Questions:

• How do you make these animated pictures?
  

I've over the last couple years moved on to Adobe After Effects, which a very powerful but also complicated animation/editing program. Most of what I produce now has been edited from the original in Photoshop to create puppet pieces, and then these pieces are animated in After Effects. 

• How can I learn to use the programs you use?
  

    I highly recommend using an online tutorial, there are lots of them out there. My personal favorite is Lynda.com. This is where I learned how to use Photoshop and After Effects. They have very good introductory courses for you to follow along with, and you can go through as many tutorials as you want for a flat monthly price. 

• Do you stream your work anywhere?

    I do! Follow me at picarto.tv/EquumAmici . I stream once or twice a week and always announce my bigger streams here on Deviantart. Sometimes I'll feel like doing a short, informal stream and you'll only find those ones if you're following my Picarto. Sometimes I open up spontaneous requests on stream as well  

• Do you get permission from people when animating their paintings and such?
  

Time goes on and responsibilities change at big moments in our lives. I'm about to reach one of those moments, and soon I won't be able to spend the time creating animations like I have in the past.

I'm not leaving, I love this unexpected fandom and all the passion it's created. I just will be in more of a watching role than a creating role in the future. Thank you all for following me on here, and appreciating the results of this hobby of mine! I'm always in awe of all the wonderful art we create together.

There will be occasional posts here or there, when I find a little bite of spare time.

The Ponies at Dawn Anthology Album is almost upon us! I had the pleasure of collaborating to create the video animation for "Ghost in the Dream", which is linked above. If you're like me and love electronic music, this has your name all over it! Check out the album preview over on Soundcloud!

Over the years as I've continued with my hobby, unfinished animations have gradually built up. I decided to share these incomplete pieces instead of leaving them for eternity on my hard drive.
These are at various stages of completion; some are very simple and for others I was being ambitious. I've tried to mix them evenly to keep the compilation interesting to watch. Since they aren't projects I've planned to publish, some of them are rough around the edges. I haven't contacted all of the artists about publishing derivatives of their work either (For a couple of them, that is why they are not published to my gallery). If you would like any of the clips removed, please let me know. 



Each of these short loops has a different story. Some are projects where I hit a technical problem I couldn't fix; others didn't turn out how I wanted and I lost interest. Sometimes I bit off more than I could chew.  A lot of times I would do a live stream request just for fun and it would die with the stream.

I've come a long way since making most of these - many would be much easier now. If there's a particular one you think has good potential, perhaps I could be convinced to finish it!
